The Vienna International Christian-Islamic Summer University was a three week summer program aimed at bringing together students and professors from all over the world. It took place on a biannual basis from 2008 to 2018 at Stift Altenburg, a Benedictine monastery in Lower Austria.
The VICISU evolved from the Vienna International Christian-Islamic Round Table, an initiative by academics from different fields of specialisation in order to discuss the most important questions concerning today´s world, from a Christian and from a Muslim perspective. The Vienna International Christian-Islamic Summer University was founded in order to pass on this spirit of dialogue and exchange to the younger generation.
